Biography 
Jan Nieuwenhuize was born in the Netherlands in 1919. He lived his whole life in the Netherlands where he died in 2001. During his life he worked at a shipyard. After his retirement he started painting. During the period 1985 -1995 he painted around 300 paintings. He is a naive painter. His first paintings were about animals. Thereupon he started painting people. He also made abstract paintings. All of his paintings are acrylic on paper.
